This thread is inspired by the rather unique homes one finds out about. Most are of the minimalistic variety, but there are some more standard sized homes that bare mentioning as well. When I was doing my research on living in camper vans and mobile homes, as well as buying land and building smaller homes, I came across some interesting finds you might like to read about. So sit back and enjoy the articles and video's.
Please feel free to add your own finds here as well.

I stumbled across this article about a globe type tiny home built up in a tree, and it was done right here in my province and on crown land, which has me wondering how he got away with it.

There are many types of cabins and preferences based on needs. The great thing about cabins, is that many can be full time homes, so I have decided to post to this thread, the information I find out about cabins, from buying ready mady, inheriting, do it yourself building designs and of course all the quirks of this type of living. Downside is that you are going to spend money on gas to drive to and from destinations, since cabins tend to be outside a city/towns limits., usually quite far outside...lol
First on the list is this nifty do it yourself cabin I stumbled across and the site has a number of other interesting articles that may interest those who like cabins instead of houses (technically a cabin is just a small home aka cottage) and for the do it yourself/fix it upper type person.

Container homes are basically old train and shipping containers no longer in use. They have been stock piling all around the planet, seemingly useless until now. Container homes can be elegant, cheap and practical. A single general sized container is about the size of a small mobile home suitable for a single person or a childless couple. If you would like to see the many ways in which to create a home with containers, please check out the video below.

This thread is all about Cob or Hobbit type houses and how they are built. There are different types of material available to create these, though the general idea is Eco friendly and normally use earth mixed with other things or made of wood, along with other things to make sure it's livable. To know what kind of house I am talking about, please view the video's below to get an idea. The Cob House
